Try and get them for you when I walk the dogs tomorrow. The brackets are on some old logs in a wet area near me. The wood looks like it's been dead and down for several years. There are several of these brackets around.

Yeah ive come across splits and scars like that before on topped trees,Must be the sun i reckon as its pretty strong here.

a nice conifer hedge ive got to do in the next month or so. 1 meter off the height and trim the sides far in as i dare :sneaky2: then couple of big conifers to fell pic dont really show the scale of them but you can kinda get a scale when you see the portacabin next to it.
