Lombardy felling today (insurance co. insisted, house is cracking).

 

This 80-footer, and a smaller one further to the right. Both leaning back slightly. Not having a Matador on hand like John Hancock in his thread, I used Polish Steve 'Woodnuts' on the pull line*. Both came over sweet.

Nearly mate, but we decked them both, sned them out and left to go pricing and knocking out log orders. Nice to drop back on later in the week when the weather turns again. Priced the smaller one as a (semi) dismantle, but I've got a bit of a phobia about rigging Lombardys, and it was nice to get a day ahead on the job. Lovely day with no wind helped.

What specificaly concerns you rigging these mark?

 

They like to tangle in themselves I know, but i use to judge fall leaving in enough slack (small loads to rigging gear obviously, for snatching) then knock them bits out and away allowing free fall till tensioning at a point below the lower foliage and still within reach of the groundies with a pole/hook.:001_cool:
