Her's one from way back in '91. Shows the power of dear ol' Mother Nature.

This was up at Box Hill, Surrey. I discovered it after a jolly good blow in the woods (a la Rainbow vid).

I was mighty impressed by the forces at work here - the crown must've been some sail.

Looking at the butress flare, it would appear that decay was at some point in evidence.

 

 

All the more impressive really

Thats a great pic, and a nice pick too with the crane. Excellent work, although you do realise that using a crane is cheating right? :biggrin:

 

If there's any more pics of the job please post them, always like to see interesting removals.

Looks like the weta is dragging out some deadwood for you. :biggrin: I take it they are "friendly" and dont bite or sting?

 

Theyll just give a little nip thats all, the more gentle you are with them the better. no stinger either.The cave weta has a foot print of over a foot!
