when talking about percentages we always looked at the whole tree, not just foliage or crown size, if we were given a 20%crown reduction, then the whole tree lost 20%. i wasnt getting a dig at john, i think the tree looks great. and that is exactly what it was needing. 1 2 3

The shaft on our pole pruner broke, thought id never miss the bloody thing but they do have there place and are pretty usefull, for both trees and hedging :thumbup1:

I knew you weren't getting at John mate i just still felt it was a point worth mentioning.

 

I can do it quicker and better by climbing hate using the death on a stick!

Friday I was removing this dead spar from a nice tall pine in Westonbirts former nursery when I noticed this nasty, flakey section of tree, good job I was lowering small chunks with no shock loading.

Nice bit of rot highscale. Do you do much stuff for the arboretum?

 

No none at all in Arboretum, they have their own staff and don't use outside contractors, the site I was on is right next door and used to be the nursery for the Arboretum, it is privately owned and is, as you can imagine, a stunning place with some incredible trees, the owner only uses it occasionally as his main dwelling is in London's Mayfair.
