Declining Oak tree i reduced today....probably wont last much longer anyway.....forgot to take an after pic!

anchor points were decidedly dodgy so i opted for 2. my main anchor point was sound, but i needed a better point to get out on the branch over the shed and wire.

Like the second shot, where you've cunningly tried to fool us into thinking the free falling section is caught on the wire. :sneaky2:

Obviously, someones very keen to save the old girl, hence your fine work, so is it worth considering Root issues (Lee?)

i did mention aeration to the customer...its the most obvious reason for the dieback, completely surrounded with tarmac, no other obvious symptoms of disease.

the guy did want to save the tree but primarily wanted to make it safe......

oh and yes the branch does look like its hanging on the wire!!! i can assure you it wasnt though.

this ash was almost death, and it was on the big city park - he was dangerous for walkers. almous all crown was death..

it was old ash tree - under 200 years..

Thanks for feedingback KGmyrek.

I aways like to hear the whole story.

Out of interest, do the Parks departments where you are in Poland, consider leaving dead monitored tree trunks, standing for habitat ?
