10m in a crotch? Man that must have been a hell of a tree. Plenty of epiphytes round this way in the forests to the southern side of Ruapehu and heading up into the Kaimanawas. Also heading over the Punga to Taumarunui through the Kahikatea forests there's some good examples.

Yeah I know mate, was a large kauri where the head had snapped out and the rimu had shot up to the light. Climbed up it and into another part of the kauri canopy. Unfortunately no pics or vid allowed in some parts of the forests up north. Hoping to do some research on human skeletons found up the canopies from kauri gum collecting days, I've heard the rumours but I want to find the truth, csi style. Keep taking pics bro, I'm limited as broke too many cameras last year!

You nee to tell me more about the skeletons up the trees, I'm intrigued. As for the cameras; I keep buying the cheap $100 dollar ones for that very reason. The wife has the nice one so she takes the good shots if we're out on a walk. By the way, did Johno and Zane get their free bottle of pump?

We got threatened wit $30k court etc but it's all good now, pump were on the climbeverything side! It's going to make a mean tent is that billboard.

Skeletons- apparently some have been found up north from the old gum scarring days, guys would spike up with crampons and axes to get the gum, drop an axe and then no choice but wait for rescue( were talking late 1800s) or just wait to die. Apparently skeletons have been found 25m up. Trying to find if it actually happened, who found them etc or if it's just a myth.
