Are there many people (in the UK) that still use horses for pulling out? Would av thought it was a thing of the past these days.
I've done some snigging, but this was the first time I've really watched/appreciated how good a timber arch is. The drag wasnt far to where the mog was ( 150/200m?) But the horse had shifted between 15 and 20t by lunch time and it was a late start as well and not in piddly little sticks either, the crane could barely lift them. Really makes alot less mess to lift one end of the timber up whilst its dragged. Very impressed. The horse does live literally next door to cemetery as well, so zero transport costs.

Thanks again matty for getting that beech down double fast.

Here's my log arch. Needs 50 horses to pull it but it will shift anything that fits through the uprights.
That looks pretty rad. Howd you power the winch? The hoss we had didnt have a plug, just chain ratchets on the arch.

Def makes me want to buy a timber arch for my cob, so much better than a drag

They do have a plug, they just don't like you using it!

The winch connects to the tractor battery.
