Looking to import firewood

I dealt a lot in import/export of goods at one time and with commodities the shipping rate and exchange rate variables can make or equally as quickly break a business. It is almost impossible to work on a long term basis as what works out today could be way too expensive next month when say the pound has weakened and shipping rates have increased. Commodity trading across currencies is usually best worked as a spot business, applying when all the ducks are nicely lined up.

i would much prefer the industry as a whole trying to promote english softwood alongside english hardwoods as a firewood option - softwood isnt a dirty word you know

i've been promoting it for years( British softwood ), there is plenty of wood in this country, we just made the mistake of telling the public years ago it was wrong to cut down trees as they produce our oxygen.

the result has been the rich public do gooders buying up pockets of woodlands for thier amenity value and not letting them be worked and only allowing in the birds and insects cos its all the food cycle

once again we need a radical re-education of the woodland and tree ethical management
