James, in that last pic have you run the mini-mill in vertically with a shorter bar? Never thought of doing this, but can see the advantages straight away.

could you not roll the logs on to a large sheet to keep all the s/d in 1,place

 

yes and no, you could tuck a sheet under the side you are cutting from but if your using the mini mill you've got no hope it goes everywhere including covering yourself from head to toe.:biggrin:
