I've just watched the Delhi handover ceremony and spotted the 18 BR600's we supplied them, all went ok and nothing deflated halfway through with an estimated billion people watching. :001_smile: But then it is a Stihl :001_smile:

Was a little on edge watching it, after all the spec sheets I had to sign off saying they would do the job. Feel a lot more relaxed now it's over.

If you get a chance to see it they where blowing up the very big silver domes, they had painted the blowers black but you can make them out if you know what your looking for.

The replica “Armadillo” is made out of 4,500 square metres of high tenacity nylon fabric and will be inflated and managed by 16 cast members using powerful backpack “leaf blowers” with ultra high air throughput. Three of those cast members’ usual job is working for Glasgow City Council to clear the city’s parks of leaves.

Jonesie,

well done on the leaf blowers mate, but that little extravaganza in Delhi cost Scottish tax payers £1.5 million and trust me on this....blowing up that Armadillo will be the first work those 3 Glasgow City Council workers have done in years, in fact it's probably the first work they've done in their entire careers.

Around £3500 per head to ship 400 dancers and god knows who else on some junket to India while we're seen the worst cutbacks in decades.

The Commonwealth Games is widely view by the rest of the world as a total joke, they even have bowls for christ's sake! seriously.... how many people in Kenya or Namibia play bowls!

rant over

did'nt Ahmir Khan win gold in boxing for britain in the previous olympics????

No....he didn't.

The Commonwealth games is dying, its a throwback to Britain's lost empire, Usian Bolt double Olympic champion didn't even bother with it.:laugh1:

They should just re-name the Commonwealth Games the World Bowls Championships.

I thought that the Commonwealth Games were for amateur sportsmen/women. I'm sure I read that most of the competitors had day jobs. I might be wrong there.
