in co clare.picture taken today dont mind the date on the picture.alot more wood on the side of the road left to rot.went to the office to see would they sell the wood to me.they dont want to know me.was willing to hand over my cash no sale.you would not see this in germany they use up every thing no waste.

Yep, saw this quite a bit when i was in the south west of Ireland 3 months ago.

I'm sure all the bugs and beasties are very pleased, as will all the birds and other creatures that feed on said beasties.

thats what i was trying to find out, that standing dead wood is probably as part of a FSC certification on the site as part of the harvesitng for FSC you have to leave a certain quantity of dead and standing material on site

all this nice firewood will be put into trenches.it will be all buried in.i have a friend in the forestry that drives a digger i think the word is moulding.he says he buried ash and hardwoods what a waste.so many look for wood.

tbh cant really see alot of timber left, it looks like the harvestors brashings, the top and branches that arent very big and leaving some standing deadwood for habitat, unless im missing something - brash baling is an option if terrain conditions permit - usual stuff as i can see
