so none of you have phoned a competitior and to see what they charge?? the big supermarkets go round eachother to check prices and the balst it all ove the telly and the net! I have a mate that sells firewood and we keep tabs on eachother to make sure we are not shafting eachother.

trade for me its going well people are stocking up early as they dont want caught out again like last year but if we have another 3 feet of snow it makes it hard to get to the log shed and just as hard to get them delivered!

Next time someone rings you up and you think it may be one of those red Indian chasing horse riding cowfolk, why not offer to take them a free sample bag of logs so they can test out the top quality firewood that you are producing. You will then know for certain if its a price comparison seeking gun slinging cowboy or a genuine decent knowledgable person looking for a GOOD log supplier.

 

Just a thought.

i had someone phoning about firewood last year. They started asking about price per volume and then moisture content (thought wait a min this is a rival) then the next question was can i come and see the wood?? total random i thought anyways but i went with it so a wee while later there was a car turned up and out gets nervous loking guy so i took him round to the wood and after 5 min of looking and picking it up and looking somemore he decides to buy a load!! A few months later he want to come back and look at the wood again even though it was the same wood before buying anther load.
