In all the time I've worked across farmland I've never had an issue with them over this, what they dont like is a big pile of mess left in their way, hell they've even supplied tractor and trailer to chip into so they can use it!

 

Fair enough I have though.

 

Its usually because the previous power line clearer's 5 years before had left a big load of crap everywhere so they arent taking any chances which is understandable.

 

I woulda killed for that machine, dragging hawthorn hedges 1/4 mile across fields, fences and ditches aint fun.:laugh1:

some very narrow minded views on the first page,, suprised...

 

i think it's great,, shame it's a timber wolf,, but it's innovative and a nice solution,, smaller job? chip into the box and go, larger job? tow a tipping chip trailer and bobs your uncle,,

 

personally i salute the makers for trying something a little different,,

L/R PTO’s run through the gearbox and are fine for a winch or running a pump but do you think the gearbox is up to a 2 hour (?) daily wood chipper punishing?

if you can put >110HP in one end of the gearbox and get out >110hp out the other end and pull big trailers using every bit of power which has to go threw the gearbox anyway then yes I do, or do you somehow think a small kabota engine and 3 v-belts to be stronger with more torque! ;)

 

the LR PTO goes on the rear of the transfer box and cost ~£250 for the drive flange type.
