Do any of you process and bag logs through the summer. We've a big pile of wood and not a lot of work.. If we spit it and bag it, as long as it's kept dryish it shouldn't be a problem should it?

They tend to go very mouldy unless they are bone dry Ben.

I have been trying to source some ventilated bags but they are £6 + vat each.

We put ours into builders bags and stack 3 high. Covered with a plastic sheet:icon14:

As others have said, if they're going into plastic bags they want to be bone dry otherwise they sweat and go mouldy (and even rot in some cases) I'm all for splitting over the summer as you can almost watch them dry out.

One thing you don't want to do is inhibit the air flow when drying wood .You will just end up growing mushrooms inside those bags .

Just split ,stack and cover the top .Works any where in the world .

I liked that idea I saw on here (cant remember the thread) where there was frame made of strong wire pig netting wrapped round a pallet base to make a basket/stillage type thing. Yuo could just put them in lines with a tarp over them?

Ah they are sturdy enough to stack without collapsing as well, even better. Excellent idea, cheap and simple :icon14:

Do you have a pair of forks on a tractor to lift them?

Oh and do you mind me asking how much you sell a load like that for (nosy yorkshiremen, me!!) It'll be about a cube meter is it?
