whats the balance like on them?

Can't say for a double sider but my 30" single and their other products ie that brushcutter I raved about recently and funnily enough the CS-600 chainsaw are the best balanced I have ever experienced. Echo GB used to claim good balance way back in the 70s - I have all their old catalogues from decades ago. They never blow the trumpet, they just get on with the job.

What is it that makes the robins cut so nice?

Do you think its the blade speed or just the design/cutting angle?

Sorry I cant help with the OP question I have only ever bought the single sided hedge trimmers.

im not sure. i do remember several years ago asking a chainsaw mechanic why the stihl blades wouldnt cut...it was something to do with the spacings they use

I think they have used better quality steel to make the blades, it holds an edge better than many others I've used. I use the single side Tanaka for hedge tops, with a scoop, but its still not quite as good as the Robin. I had a long reach Echo, which was superb, and on that I shall certainly look at their standard models, the qualities of the Robin, with less vibes, I hope

used a makita for about 5yrs with a robin engine, never any probs, starts second pull everytime, treat it to a carb kit every year or so and it just keeps going.. unlike the stihl i bought new 12mth ago that takes up to 10pulls to get going and dies after ticking over for 30secs..(nice reach though)
