just wondering with more and more people , wanting the wood left and ringed after there tree(s) are down, also with the huge demand of log burners being sold has anyone thought of a mobile logging service?

whoa careful, your avatar is alight.. do you mean charging them for splitting the wood as well? i usually suggest i take away all the wood and then sell them some lovely seasoned wood instead..:thumbup:

just wonder if anyone done a mobile splitting service?

iv never heard of anyone doing it...

say for example, if a big ash came down, it might be cheaper to have some split it that to buy a bulk load:001_rolleyes:

We advertise such a service but have only had two jobs this year, one was 'alot of wood' which turned out to be a lone cherry from the front garden but the second was 3 weeks work for 3 men.

I have tried it and people want their wood logging but they dont want to pay the price.

i charge £45 per hour to take my 4 way splitter, me and jim, cut, stack, split. i cant do it any cheaper, because of insurance,fuel costs, tools, wages etc.
