Hi all, last Monday i had a stroke. this was brought on by stress and a crap diet plus a few other bits and pieces. what i want to say is it is a mad world out there and because most of you are working under pressure we all seem to forget about our selves. take time out to enjoy life even if its for a few mins aday. we only get one shot at life but death is perminent. think on it and remember that "Death is natures way of telling us to Slow Down"

That's rough but you seem very stoical. The fact that you're here 6 days after the event seems to indicate that perhaps the stroke was mild...? I hope so.

Whatever happens good luck to you for the best possible recovery.

im really sorry to hear about your stroke , i hope that you make a full recovery. i have a friend whos father had the same thing hapen to him , he is now enjoying life and has made his family and his health his first priority. on the other hand my mum married my step dad who ran his own carpet shop and fitting company , he always put family and friends first and would do anything to help anyone but sadly he died playing 5 a side football with his son , he was only 52 when he died from congenitive heard disease . I guess it ust goes to show the you dont know whats round the corner .

Best of luck Bob, my brother in law had a stroke in his early 40's despite leading a healthy active life. If you were lucky enough to have had a mild stroke then all th better, its when you suffer permanent damage that its demoralising. All I can say is listen to your docs advice re diet, take your medication as required and good luck:thumbup1:

it was bad enough. the Sister in A&E was a friend of mine and she had people jumping through hoops looking after me. her exact words were "Bob is a very good friend of mine so you had "better" look after him". i am off to London to stay at my daughters for a bit of R&R
