Lets say a company becomes established as a reputable outfit after a few years of mostly domestic work and wants to try and make some good commercial contacts.How did some of you who achieved this go about it and what barriers did you have to overcome along the way?:confused1:

Is this a serious thread ? its the answer that everyone wonts to know ? get out there look for it ,hunt the work down get a good name for your self ,tout for work ,talk to people ,ask for the work if need be

Maybe you got yourself on approved contractor listings,got your lads trained up for utility work,obtained accreditation for health and safety or applied for approved vendor status? All helpfull.

I suppose like finding anything,you either hunt it or stumble across it.

 

Find the people in the Company that are responsible for tendering the work that you want to do,make a presentation of your Company,Qualifications,perhaps pictures of Equipment and past jobs and post it off to them.Or request a meeting.

 

The Commercial work that we get came as a result of working privatly for Employees of a Local Council.That was the "Stumbling across it" way of getting work.

be carefull to much commercial work gives you grey hair.

most of my work of late has been commercial, my bank balance is empty and im owed £8500.

cash flow is crap with commercial

yeah owed thousands at the mo

you need a mix of work to get you through.

my thoughts are with you and hope you get paid soon.... and me
