They're Back :scared:

Well, they weren't exactly going away now were they.

There were clouds of the little bleeders all over today.

Third pic is the little bu@@ers at it.

The last shot I have no idea what it is; looks like the Leaf Minor on Steroids :scared::scared:

Yes,

Saw some in Brizzle last week. Never understood the theory that a cold winter would kill them off, they come from Macedonia, pretty cold winters there.

Not doubting your expertise for a minute, Lee but the other night on tele they showed the Kew arborists collecting the processionary moth (caterpillars) into a bag, then a blow-lamp to treat the rest. Is your treatment an advancement on this?

What programe was this on andy? as id like to watch on iplayer.

When nature looks a little awry......

I've become so accustomed to the early leaf fall on the chestnuts here in W London that it takes a piccy like that, with the chestnuts contrasted against the other trees still in full foliage, to remind me how abnormal it is!

i swear every horse chestnut has leaf minor... every single one i see has been attacked by this big time! horse chestnuts aren't doing very well are they... most of them have this, bleeding canker and are dropping limbs and being felled all over the place!

Interestingly, looking out of the window at Manchester Uni on Monday during the AA conferance, I was suprised to see two Horse Chestnuts completely unaffected by Cameraria.

Has to be said that these were enclosed by high story uni buildings, and possibly have their leaves removed in late fall.

There was however a small amount of Guignardia on the leaves.
