:post: Can anyone please tell me what's the law on driving a Mog, I have a full Class 1 HGV licence. If it is registerd as an Ag vech what are the restrictions on every day driving and finaly whats the score with RED diesel! I will stand by for lots of opinions but whats the LAW.

I am a landrover man at heart even when it breaks! I do like the idea and versatality of a mog

Many thanks!

I called the local traffic police last year because a mog can go over 25mph they said it was ok to go on motor way

I'm 99% sure and will check tomorrow that the exemption from requiring an Operators licence is within 50KM of base thats 32Miles.

Hi deer man,

Have you tried Atkinson Vos at all (http://www.unimogs.co.uk/)? They're a big Mog dealer and I'm sure they'd be able to help with all your queries. If you wait a few months you'll probably be able to chat with them at this month's APF show in Sept.

I would never rely on information on any vehicle or driver licensing issue from any dealer.

Maybe I'm just cynical.

hi as a mog owner a u1650 mine is ag spec so anyone with a driving license can drive it.

I have driven mine on motorways.

I run mine on red but i work within 15 mile radius most days.

I insure my mog with the national farmers union fully comp any driver for £340 for the year.

This is abit of advice dont buy a cheaper mog from atkins. If you pay little for it you will end up f

paying alot in the future, also if you can be the only driver of the mog and then you know what the problems are with it.

happy mogging

As an Ag tractor, no ops licence required. A previous post was spot on, buy too cheap and you buy dear. Parts can be ludicrously expensive. Remember - it has a three pointed star on the bonnet same as a Maclaren Mercedes. Great fun tho' and priceless performance off road and as a tool to drive things, chippers, flails, toppers, grinders, the only limitation is the depth of your pocket.
