bunded or double bunded fuel tank??

I have bought a fuel tank of a farmer friend who does not know if it is single skin, bunded or double bunded, how can I find out, looks like its been fabbed so no model number.

Fill it, then weigh it. Measure the out side dimensions and calculate the volume.

 

If its bunded, it will weigh much less than it should for its volume.

 

I doubt its bunded.

its a mobile one like they have on construction sites, cylindrical shape, on a trailer chasis, not like the big one that are mounted high up like they have on most farms, will post a photo

So weighing it should be easy

If its metal and you can get your hand in somewhere see if you can feel any dents on the inside that are on the outside. If it feels smooth then its double skinned.

 

Or get a pair of calipers in somewhere and measure the thickness of the wall.
