Just wonderd how to do it? Run a full tank of petrol through it today and it had only used a drop of oil. Just wonderd what the best way was to clean it?

Cheers

I'm assuming a chainsaw? I would take the oil out and then check the filter. I tend to give them a good shake and sometimes it works again. But only shortly. Just to get some of the oil through the tank. Usually just a bit of rubbish stuck in it

without sounding funny , why do you need to clean the tank out in the first place ?

if its because of sawdast and other tree related crap in the tank then you need to address how and why its getting in there in the first place .

To be honest i think its inevitable that a bit of sawdust will get in the oil tank every now and again. Groundsman are being rained on by sawdust alot of the day so when the saws being filled i think even if you was to brush yourself of theres always going to be a bit of sawdust that you miss that could make its way in there.

Not unless you put a filter on the oil tank first, I havent done this but has anybody else? . . .. . . . .

It might not even be oil filter in any case it was just a guess. Just thought that it would be worth cleaning regardless and i wasnt sure how to do it. :thumbup1:

Ive used parrafin/kerosene in the past and that seems to work quite well. But, only to clean out debris from the tank not to unblock a blocked filter. Tbh has only happened with the 020/ms200T.

It can be surprising how much sawdust and crap comes out of the tank!

Its 2oot that i have the problem with. Today it has been back to normal though. I dont even no for sure that the filter is or was blocked i just wanted to know how to clean it.

I can imagine that alot goes in there, especially when a few decent conifer jobs have been done!

I have had to unblock the oil pump quite a few times on the 020;s and then blow the pipe and filter out. It doesnt take long tbh and is easy enough.

If yours is playing up a bit it is worth doing when you get a chance.
