Big sycamore with dryads saddle, the centre section was sosoft you could punch it and leave knuckle imprints, mature I know!

Ground level not a mark in the stump, perfectly white but from 8ft up till the crown brake just sponge inside. All off for habitat in some other section of the estate away from the main grounds.

'if' it is Pseudomonas syringae pathovar aesculi, the infection has been known to cease. So bleeds may have dried up.

 

But the cankers on your example may have been caused by a n other pathogen not associated with the bleeding symptom.
