Have used a few different jackets that claim to be waterproof, lightweight and breathable but generally all have been a disappointment.Would be interested to know if you have any fav jackets that aren't at all bulky, don't get in the way of ropes and tuck in nicely underneath the harness.

i'd stay away from arb companies and use a brand that specialises in outerwear,, climbing brands even better

mammut, arcteryx, mountain hardwear and patagonia are the 4 i'd choose budget depending

personally i'm using a couple of Idiom jackets, goretex with no stitching, superlightweight, the cuffs dont let any water in, the fit is hi cut for harness BUT,, they aint cheap..

sorry yves,, i was not putting down arb brands/ stores like yourself,, i was aiming more at,,,

would you buy a chainsaw made by berghaus?? no you wouldn't,, so why expect a chainsaw brand to make a great waterproof,,,

I didn't pick up on your comment ad...no worries :) and no, I wouldn't buy a chainsaw from berghaus, I understand exactly what you mean. Our jacket has been tried and tested in the industry and is def. up to the job

The Proclimber waterproof is very good!

i agree, just done 38/39 with proclimber and the owner andrew lewis[the owner] was our assessor,he was wearing the proclimber smock, which is fully water proof, tight fitting and breathable, with no pockets to snag[if you climb]

he did state not the cheapest but a very good water proof coat

take a look at the proclimber website:thumbup1:
