That's a great picture Humpo...D.T works a treat on a leaner.

 

 

Thanks Silky, when I did the back cut it fell QUICK. Amazing how a root system of a tree can hold up such a heavy tree even in peat soil.

Most of them are so swept its pointless taking the buttresses off.

 

 

Still do it and get the stumps lower, makes the job look more professional. Helps distinguish a hand cutter from a harvester.

Because you can distinguish the pro because they make unnecessary cuts so it look better?
