Here are some pics of a Horse chestnut we took down yesterday and today.

JP Beaver was the climber, i was on hobbs duty and jim, ste and richard were cutting and chipping. It was at a residential home for kids and had to be done in 2 days. once stripped out we put the landy winch on and i felled the butt. i gave the timber to a farmer friend and then ground out the stump.

It was a great job and didnt rain to much.

Nice job, but why did you not cut the stump right down before grinding? Dirty wood?

Stones and all sorts mate, i had all ready hit metal/ stone when cutting up the butt, with that machine a bit more grinding dont bother it, its got so much power it eats stumps.:001_cool:

Bigger tree than it looked at first.

Cracking job Hodge and lads!

Your farmer mate - does he like a beer?:001_tt2:

There was alot in it mate, but the hobbs is a super bit of kit, jp is a very experienced climber which is worth alot and with a good gang of lads we get the job done. :thumbup1: Yes Nigel ( The farmer) loves a drink/burger/steak/cow/rabbitt.
