Dean, sounds like a design issue but could be made worse by other things, like as said pump and motor wear, but, i dont want to insult your fitter abilities, how old is the oil and how many hrs has it done?

Regular use and sometimes short periods of use can cause a lot of condensation to build up in the tank, especially in winter when the oil cold to hot temps are widest.

My greenmech (your old one) slowly started doing the same, the oil was like milk, so changed it and filter- totally transformed!

Just another thought to add to the pot.......

I'll have a look at that Pete, but the machine has only done 100 hours so far.

My mates Greenmech is showing theose signs, never thought to check Hydraulic oil !! :icon14:

The motors are really powerful, when they do jam you can hear the pressure relief valve whistle on bandits and that has been pressure checked and set. So the motor are getting full pressure.

Seen all these problems before on Bandits:bored:

Some things to check out, in the manual it shows how to reset the relief valve on the feed roller system, normaly located on the forward reverse valve block. Do this first as this should be done by your dealer with in the first 50hrs of use as the valve beds in and then reliefs far to early. Its simple to do.

This will normaly cure 90% of the problems you have in your video.

Next way to go is weld some key stockbar between the rails on the bottom feed roller to reduce the depth as this is the cause of jamming of the roller, the key stockbar will stop dry wood laying in the gaps.

These points should make the machine performe like you expect.

On the Bandit 65 & 90 make sure your knifes are sharpe and your anvil is nice and close to your knifes if this is done right there an't many chippers out there that will perform better.

Carlton make a 1260 model simulare machine to the Bandit 65 and don't get the problem, whilst also incresing the hydraulic power on the rollers. Liston Equipment have a video of it working on thier web site.

Great advice Hayden. If you look at the 1260, the other thing they do is increase the size of the top roller and shrink the size of the bottom roller. The top roller does most of the work, and a smaller bottom roller will have more torque at its circumference.
