VT and Hitchclimber mate, RW and SRT more and more for everything, still double when it suits.

Same as me although hitch climber is not used as much now . I tend to grab a prussic I think the reason would be I like to keep my eye to eye nice for the RW and tend to use double for conifers such as macrocarpa or other large conifers apart from nice open stuff like scotts pine or larch .

Yes, but the friction would be pain, like using a RW on Ddrt.

Your not wrong I think it's partly being a bit lazy . I think I will buy some extra cord at the show .

I love climbing but I manage a gardening company and do trees in my spare time and any that come up for the firm. I'm not that good a climber so wouldn't be able to go into trees full time!! I don't do big trees like poplars or big oaks or big London planes. Bit of a wuss really but we all cut our cloth accordingly!

 

There are many skills in arboriculture and sometimes the smaller trees are just as tricky .
