Cheaper to put a subaru engine in, maybe not quite as fast as a porche but not far off, considering the aero dynamics!

There an newish '02 reg one near me I'll take a photo. They cost a few quid though!

Saw a crappy one round my way with a 10k price tag... yes I did say 10,000!!!

it's a bit like an old landrover, you have to love them and keep saying to yourself "this is great fun" then one day she will look back and say "I am glad we moved on and got something better"

beside all the negative points, they are petrol! enough said.

I restored one a couple of years ago, they eat money. you would be better getting one that has been imported from the usa or australia. get a magazine called camper and bus or check out their web site, they have lots of info about them. a company in cambridge called type 2 detectives are a good company and sell great buses or fbi vw. if you get a decent one then its gonna cost at least 7 or 8 grand anything less and it will be trouble. if you buy one from this country then have it checked over by someone who knows about them because they can be rot boxes. the engines are easy to look after but make sure its well serviced. if i was you i would get camper and bus and have a read. if you pm your address i can send you an old issue as i have loads.
