I probably wont be back on line till Monday but if anyone watches country file on Sunday and see's and interview with a climbing instructor who messed up what was going to be a really good footlock demo and then talks nonesence about training and assessment, it was raining like a so and so (Ha hose pipe ban in the north west) and he hasnt got a clue what he said it was all a blur.

 

Well thats his excuse.

just watched it, i thought it was ok. there was no footlock demo!?! You mean they went and used spikes instead? lol. Has anyone been to TKF training place, is it any good? I have emailed them loads of times never to get a reply...

i watched it and didnt think there was anything wrong with it. They had a few mins to fill so adam got a crack with a saw. A guy i know does training for them and the guy i did a couple of courses with also does a bit with them and there good guys. i Think it was aimed at filling a segment for the layman.

yep I have been, its a good set up, some of the self employed instructors they use are top people to learn from, however I can't help but feel TKF concentrate on utility and big national organisations than the smaller outfits!

 

I am just watching said episode on demand now havent got to the TKF bit yet.

i watched it, he spiked a scot pine in a plantation....no big deal , explained that spikes r used in dismantle take downs, ..........in fact

the programme probably showed the general public that felling and climbing trees is not as easy as it looks

All us Huddersfield lot Know Tim quite well, I was going to ring him and tell him he hasn't got any better looking with age

 

I bet for that little couple of minute segment he had to do a loooong days filming.

TKF are very good and have high pass rates, I did UA2 (i)(ii) and my UA5 through them and they are excellent. i'm suprised they haven't got back to you.

One of the instructors TKF uses is a member on here as is one of the Assessors not saying who though

I did my certs there too, a few years ago now and they have expanded there classroom facilities since. Very good well recommended place.
