I'm going to eventually buy a canon L series lens Graham, I've been put off Sigma because they seem to have this flaw of needing rechipping to keep up with the fast moving technology whereas canon dont

 

I haven't researched enough or saved enough yet as to decide which one

It was a toss up between the nikon and the canon d40 but I would have had to go for the d300, on price it's similar to the canon, but the d700 is double the price

the l series glasses are the nads, as for the macro, got to be the 90mm efs macro for your sensor dean, im saving for the 180mm l series macro and a D5 then oh ye indeedy will i be trigger happy and posting like a balistic missile!
