'free' music?

I want to start downloading some music, wondering if anyone had recomendations? Not keen on Limewire, lotsa rubbish seems to come through.

i use limewire and it's fine. i'm a complete tool when it comes to computers, but as long as you have some decent anti-virus software you shouldn't have any worries

I often find with LImewire that when I want an album, half the tracks are missing..

for downloading things, movies music etc i use http://thepiratebay.org/ you need to have http://www.azureus.com/ or similar which is a bit torrent client. only downside you have to download albums etc rather than just a song,

I dont want to admit to anything illegal. But if I used limewire, I'd have amazon open at the same time, checking I had all the tracks from an album in the right order, or a discography. I'd also check the size of the file as this gives a clue to weather it's a legit track or witchcraft. Loads of spyware/ virus software running will keep you safe. Most people are happy to graze the hits from most albums. Can I take this opportunity to endorse taking profits from super rich pop stars and record companies, thus helping them to buy less cocaine. I would also like to discourage posters from downloading tracks by up and coming artists, as they need all the drugs they can get.
