My Landcruiser Amazon is now 11 years old so far its had one new exhaust, yearly service two brake disks and some wiper blades and thats it. The hilux feels just as well built but simpler to repair. I run some Landrovers and think they are great but just not in the same league for reliability or durability. Hilux is narrower and quicker and around town more mpg.

My Hilux is also 11 years old. Touch wood never let me down. Biggest expense i've had was four new tyres but that is just erratic driving:lol:.

I've had it for seven years now but would like to move on to a newer vehicle. Is a toss up between another Hilux or a Land Rover but think i'll go Jap again then. Head has got to rule heart:thumbup:

Yeah i know what you're saying but i don't do a great deal of mileage each year and my brother has a box full of spanners!! A very big box at that hahaha. You think sticking with the Jap machines is the best idea then?

I am on my 5th hilux since 1990, apart from tyres, exhaust, brakes i have only replaced 1 radiator & 3 fog light switches on all 5. They do 28-32mpg, i can cruise at 75mph all day. i usually take mine up to 260,000 miles before replacing it. The only gripe i have about the hilux is its like driving a brick, even the smallest pothole rattles your false teeth, cant have everything i guess.
