Highland Show Poleclimbing

Anyone here competing? I'm thinking of entering this comp next year - never done poleclimbing, how would I get into it and what equipment is needed?

you wont "need" owt as you should be able to borrow it all, but at least take a helmet, full-finger gloves, good boots (usually chainsaw boots).

 

a harness, spikes n a strop. is all,

We're not doing the APF this year...too far south for us ..not viable. Hopefully some of you southerners will make it north for the Scottish Forestry Show next year and enjoy some Scottish hospitality

humour? did some one make a joke?? i was bein serious!!

 

i like scottish hospitality, nearly went to the highland show, but too many shows this year and not enough pocket money to spend!!

 

the pics of my "back garden" have a sister estate, Drummond castle in perthshire are owned by the same family. went there once for hols, very nice!!
