Laser eyes

a good mate of mine had it done in south america(not my preferred choice of location, but cheap). he had buggered eyes(something like 5% in one of his eyes), the doctors in america wouldn't do it because it was too much of a high risk. he hasn't got 20/20 vision now, but alot better than what it was. oh he's a climber by the way. it just means you need longer off after the surgery. only certain eyes are eligible for it so check that first. i'm in the same boat, not that bad a sight but not that good either. the longer you wait the better the technology. so i'll just keep leaving deadwood in trees for a bit longer

i had it done 7 years ago,i have 20/20 vision now but prior couldnt see much without glasses which were costing me about $1000 per year

the op cost $2000 per eye,at the time they advised that i would have to put in eye drops every few hours for about 3 weeks but in reality it was proberly 2 months before i got tears back

best personal investment i reckon

i bottled it as well. i went private to the eye hosp in london. sat in waiting room all ready to sign the dotted line, when a lad came in with his father he was screaming and pleading the docs to do something about the itching. at that point i took 5 and slooped out. i dont even like going to the opticians. there is always the "what if" your eyes are pretty important. big choice

I was Mr Magoo untill i had it done, very short sighted, couldn't read a number plate unless i was about 3ft away.Only just made the limit of where it may be effective enough. Think my prescription was 5.75.

Got both eye's done through ultralase in Leeds and was the best thing i'd ever spent money on. Used to work i contact lenses and suffer with the sawdust everysingle day.

Has been about 7/8 years since the op, just wear driving glasses now, was told that as you grow older you'll probably need reading glasses as you would if you had normal vision now.

Only bit that is a pain is wearing the weird plastic goggles you have to tape to your face to stop you accidentaly rubbing them in your sleep. Oh, and the smell, that is weird smelling your own eye's burning.

I've recomended this strongly to anyone who's asked, one of the best things i've ever done.
