El cheapo combi systems

Just looking at getting a combi system, and judging by the money second hand stihl stuff goes for, tempted to try a cheapo of ebay 200 squids and you get brushcutter hedge trimmer and pole saw attachments. Has anyone tried one? Thinking if I get a year out of one and even at worse if the engine goes I'll still have the attachments, would they be the same as stihl ones? Any advice much appreciated. Cheers mike

Mike, i set off with one a few years ago now and still have it as a spare to the stihl stuff. there OK and will get you going just dont expext it to be as good and last as long as a stihl outfit that said i would rather have one of the cheap sets that you can get work with than not, for the money there not bad at all and the engines are pretty good aswell just dont expext 600 quids worh for 200.

Not sure but i don't think the attachments will fit a stihl.

when i set up i bought a 30cc ryobi off fleabay.

came with a hedge cutter head. £70 plus a tenner postage.

bought two extension poles from screwfix for £12 each.

got a polesaw head off fleabay for £30

still got it as a spare, with strimmer and brushcutter heads.

as said above, just don't expect stihl quality.:lol:

and buy a decent set ASAP
