Having performed ok at the local ploughing match I plucked up courage and went to the Nationals. The idea was not to be last in my class. It all started badly when I arrived to find my plot next to the tents etc so I was viewed by every person who visited. Secondly I had a camera crew parked next to me with some white haired chap sitting on a plastic chair and then doing interviews.

Nothing else for it than to bury my head in the hedge and crack on!

Suffice it to say that it went better than expected and I finished 2nd in class, beaten by the same person who was just above me at the ploughing match.

A good day was had by all and thanks to those who organised it. (I know a couple get on here.)NHLS2022.thumb.jpg.d0dc315e9f946f13904e8f2d2bbe5194.jpg

Nice work. Great to see loads of different styles at the National, I definitely need to step up to a comp next season

Well done, and with that jump up in positions by my reckoning you should be in first place next time

Come to FFF&B ploughing match. Really friendly group. It was where I did my first single comp and the experts are great for advice.

The winner at FFF&B was 3rd at the Nationals in the open, the 2nd was judging, third won the Intermediate Midland , I was 4th and then 2nd so a good standard!

Having said that I could see an improvement in mine between the 2 comps.through practice and knowing what the judges want!
