Evening all,

Im sure everyones had this problem before, my 200t wont swith of. I have to choke it all the time which is a pain and im sure my pull cord is also getting bored of it :001_smile:

Is there a specific part that breaks or could it be a number of things. If its possible im trying to order the part and fix it myself, havent got a backup saw so trying to avoid having to take it to a shop.

Cheers :001_cool:

Small piece of wire with a speaker type flat blade connection underneath the switch in the handle. Pretty simple to get to and replace / refit.

Would it be the cable that clips on to the metal strip of the choke lever has come off?

It can be seen just under the front of the top handle bit, where the handle bolts down onto the AV mount.

I might be wrong, it may that it wouldn't start if that cable was off, cant remember.

When the wire comes off it is essentially always turned on. I believe.

These switches are always failing. We've usually got at least one saw that has to be choked to stop it. Stihl do have a years warranty on their saws, even in the commercial arena so if you keep your invoice take the f****r back. Goes back to an earlier thread where I suggested trying to use a local supplier.

It should be a quick fix,if the spade conector has vibrated off its spadeput a little dob of silicon sealer in it when you refit it,helps stop it faling off next time.
