Just one little thing John, dont tell the customer you own the machine if your taking something down and they ask for it grinding, they expect it done for nowt.

 

If it s a small weedy stump just tell them you will only charge the hire of the machine which is £50-60 :001_smile:

The big advantage of a per inch price is you can give a good estimate of cost over the phone, which means you don't waste your time visiting those you don't get.:001_smile:

 

Small stumps are a nice little earner on the way home from a bigger job.

 

I did a couple for a guy who was having some decking done and the job was being held up, I squeezed it onto the end of a day to help him out. Turns out he's the MD of a large firm and has a large factory site he wants sorting, loads of conifers and other stuff to take out.:thumbup:

Dont you find over the phone quoting a bit nhit and miss Dave, or do you just say thats a rough idea ?
