I have been looking at 130 for log deliveries. Too long and heavy and rubbish lock for getting up drives. 90 too small not worth spending the money for the amount of space. I saw a 110 with nissan engine on a B plate but may be too old for you. If you got a 130 you could chuck a mattress in it for the evenings :thumbup1:

 

have you actually driven a 130? a full 17" diffrence in wheelbase, so chassis and prop to a 110 dosent increase the weight enough for even a metro to notice, the 130 is also shorter in overall length than all but the shortwheelbase transits, and alot narrower too, so tight driveways shoulndt be a problem for a good driver:001_smile:

you lot are full of good ideas as per!:thumbup1:

 

if i was carring just under 2cubic meters on the landy and 6 on the trailer at approx 300-400kg per m3 give or take for hardwood, that leaves me with approx 700kg on the back of the landy, with out the body.

 

i just carnt see a 110 handleing much more than that.:confused1:

 

130 just too big so thats out. oh and yes i have driven one my self dint like it to be honest!

gosh theres no pleasing you is there?:thumbup: dont forget hi cap pickups have approx 6inch rear overhang after the rear crossmember, if you build your 90 with a similar overhang then it would hold more, hope it works for you, some pics of it finished would be nice when you do it..:thumbup1:

Yes driven alot of 130's. Great if you need to move 1.5 tonne of chip. But 2cu of logs is only going to weigh 700kg. The chassis is alot longer and heavily reinforced compared with 110 hence the extra weight. The longer chassis means poor tuning circle. My driving is fine thanks 18 years in business no accidents

yes your rite steve thats the one ive seen, but is only a flat bed but the same consept.

 

i must say lads i am set in my ways, and ive just got it in my head that a 90tipper will be top notch trust me!:thumbup:

 

all i need is a rear bulk head and a truckcab roof and im well on my way

Only mad dogs and Englishman, still I guess we are all eccentric & bonkers to be in this game. If you can pull it off cool id love to see the pics. I agree with you short wheelbase looks better & handles better off road but pay some consideration to axle weights a 130 has more weight in front of the rear axle therefore spreading some weight onto the front axle. You may find with the nose weight of the trailer and too much weight behind the rear axle the ar$e will be down and the steering too light. Good luck and hope you can pull it off.
