He's doing what he is paid to do, and just that. But whether the papers should glorify it, i think not. Out there, he is the enemy too, he is a trespasser on their soil violating their people. As much as he is a hero over here, he is a villain to them. Anyone remember the top Iraqi sniper in the Gulf, he had one hell of a success rate, but we werent too keen on him!!:001_rolleyes:

no no no, what about his spotter who will have done the maths on mils drop, windage, curvature of the earth etc etc, not a mention of the brains of the set up, dialing the figures in and pulling the trigger is pretty easy if the maths is right  still a hell of a shot though under pressure as well

Think people are underestimating the skill involved to make a shot like that. At those kind of distances, with the bullet in the air for 3 seconds, the elevation adjustment he would have had to make, may well have meant the target was barely even in his scope, when the shot was taken. If it was, it would have been nowhere near centre.

As others have mentioned, the calculations for a shot like that are no joke either.

Obviously head shots would have impressed more, but hey, you cant have everything.

Not interested in joining the more political side of the debate.

ripper shooting, going for a shot at 300m with a crosswind is hard enough even with a sight but that shooting is a natural ability. as said before the spotter is the brains of the outfit and the sniper is the donkey work so to speak but not going to take sod all from that shooting, nice work.
