On a more serious note, milking is not really a defect, it should be considered a normal part of rope inspection and maintenance to check for and remove any slack cover.

 

Does your rope have a factory splice?

I know mate. It does have a factory splice. Not really surprised. I expect a bit of milking but I didn't think I'd have got that much. Trimmed it off and retagged it. Isn't a massive problem, was just wondering if anyone else had experienced it.
