I have only had one rope need milking. Poison Ivy, milked about 15 cm of a 5 metre line. I have topped using the Imori rope and gone back to Tachyon. I found that the fibres that make the rope thicker in hand, also soak up a lot of water and took eons to dry. Hung it in the shed and not used it for 5 months now.

 

Has anyone else had this problem..?

My PI line milked about the same Rich, I really like it, my Tachyon stays at home.

I also have poison ivy, havent had any milking issues with that either

Does it make a difference if its the first or last length out of the machine do you suppose?

I think it's pretty normal to have some milking in a double braid rope.

Meant to say 25 metre line. Not sure where abouts on the reel mine came from.

wich end of the rope would you start from when milking a rope ? the spliced end or the tail?

start from the spliced end and work down to the tail mate ....

 

there for you only cut the loose from it and not your splice...
