I have a Vermeer 252 with green teeth, when the teeth are new its OK, but as soon as they loose there edge it gets painfully slow.

Today I thought I'd try unplugging the Auto Sweep, WOW!!! what a difference.

It takes a little more skill (sorry we are not skilled are we:sneaky2:), you need to act less stupidly to operate it, but not having the A/W speeded up the job dramatically!!

Some don't like them, saying they shater, but I have found them very good, they also do finger teeth.

Can't really sharpen them Rupe, I think they work well, quite aggressive. I use the cheap Chinese ones.

Mines been on its side a few times.

Any troubles with it after?? Mine blew a load of smoke out but thats all, started ok and finsished the job.

Job was on a bank so I was really careful to not go across the bank, on a diagonal was fine. Then I tipped it putting on the trailer that I've done hundreds of times! Trapped my hand between it and the edge of the trailer (Iffor) ouch!

Yes they smoke because they are burning oil, just check your oil level, there does not seem to be any damage.
