That wimbledon based company looks a cracking opportunity for some hes looking for groundies aswell.

 

Since coming on here Ive found that I am realy realy lucky to have a job Ive had to work for it dont get me wrong and was doing W/E for aboout a year before geting looking into apprenterships but without my boss now Im sure I would be in a similar position for you.

IME its worth it. when in the uk, i worked away from home, found a b+b for £20 per night, as i was out too early for breakfast, and had 4 nights in a row, i got it for £15 per night

If you dont ask you dont get, If you ask the question about the company providing accomodation, It makes you look serious about the job, The fact that your willing to travel to work, That Would speak volumes if i was a boss, You never know, They might have a caravan in there yard

Josh not sure what you mean by "substitute the bonus scheme for cs39 and climbing work" ??

 

well if i were in youre situation, willing to travel ect, id be reading that thread in full, ringing up that company who are also after groundies certified upto cs38, and who pay a quartley bonus, id explain to the boss what youre ambitions are, which as a new upcomming company he should love to hear, and put it to him that youd like the groundie position and wage, and instead of the bonus he pays, ask for it to be replaced with cs39 training and assesment, or help towards the cost/flexibility, then as youre a new climber, and are going to be slow, ask to continue to forfit the bonus in return for 2 or 3 days climbing a week untill the boss is satisfied with youre speed and pace

Well done mate, doing the training ie giving large amounts of cash and spending lots of time training is the easy bit, what they don't tell you at college or on training schemes is getting an arb career is a fairly hard nut to crack even when the economy is buoyant let alone in a slump as it is now.

 

Again well done on the perseverance.......
