id have thought it would be fine, be careful not to snap any branches off by accident, and obviously dont have a saw attatched to the harness!!

not to derail the thread but do any rules or regulations apply to recreational climbing? for example do you need to be insured to climb a tree in a park where theres people about, even if no work is being done? sounds daft but you never know

In my local park i asked if i can climb there and they said do you have your own PL insurance, to which i said no. No climbing for me in the park until i get some.

Nah. I only do a few windups on the side, part time like. Don't bother with the insurance (bit of a cowboy, see).

D' you reckon watchdog might be interested?

If you are only winding people up when you are less than 5m off the ground you could prob get away with it on gardeners insurance:lol:

sounds obvious but this time of year try to use cambium saver, to erm save the cambium..:thumbup1:

Any time of the year. To save ropes aswell.

If anyone asks what your doing just say an inspection of a suspeced cavity or summat.

1 step a head there frank The local tree warden is a mate of my mother in laws ((Only good thing about her)) I had a chat with him and he says everything is ok. He has also dropped of some inspection forms i think they are. Advised me to use a cambium saver aswell Mainly for the tree but as frank said saves the rope aswell also if any 1 start moaning just offer to ring the tree warden that will shut them up or just show the paper work for the tree
