357xp replacement

The 260 isn't an equal saw to a 357 more like a 346 sized saw. The MS 290 isn't classed as surgeons/foresters saw its in last years book as a semi pro saw/farm boss. 341/361 is comparable to the 357

quite odd this. ive got a 290 and an 026. the 026 wipes the floor with the 290. I've always thought of the 290 as a farm saw, not only because of its name (farm boss) but because its too heavy to lug around all day but hardy enough to chuck in a truck bed and survive forever.

 

the 290 seems positively sluggish vs the 260 and seems incredibly overweight and oversize for its power.

Jim your right the 290m is a farm saw, I've corrected my spelling above! I have a 260 It rips along with a 13" bar on. 361 is my next saw up.

cool. part of me thought it was a typo and part of me wondered if something was up with the saw! haha.

 

my 026's on a 16inch bar with .325 chain on and kept nice and sharp it's good and fast

saws came today 2 stihl 341 with 9 tooth sprockets and 325chains and 2 ms 200t and a new pole saw which kicks like a mule when you rev it

its the stihl 131 i think the bigger one its a 4 stroke one whereas our other is the 2 stroke and it does kick when you rev it

we have also got a angled head for it. So will see if thats an improvement

no still polishing 1 lad took one out to cut the log pile but thats a young lad for you who in there right mind would go and cut logs when there is tea to drink
