Wanted - engine

I need an International engine, a DT239 for a Bruunett forwarder. Also found in the international 856 tractors.

Any leads appreciated.

do you know if there are any perkins engines that will fit.i have recently cleared a house with a mate he has over 80 perkins engines most are runners

Maybe, but I really dont want the hassle of making up different mounts, and as the Bruunett are becoming rare, I would like to keep it original.

is your engine damaged beyond repair my neighbour is an old school diesal engineer. he's reguarly rebuilding 19 50's 60's boat engines as well as many others

The current engine was completely rebuilt, but when the crank was ground, it was'nt Xrayed afterwards, and it broke upon start up. All I really need is a replacement crank and a GOOD diesel engineer.

What experience have people had with re-con engines?

 

Mine has always been bad,would always go for a good s/h over re-con,have I just been unlucky?

Good and bad with re-co engines,i prefer second hand runners with warranty.

I suppose the current engine is an example of reconning - If its done right its fine, but make a mistake and it goes badly wrong.

Spent good money rebuilding an engine myself and they didnt pick up a crack in the cylinder at exactly the area the piston moved,no water in the oil just an engine that got hot very quick.Was hard fault to find and costly.

Ed i,ll ask at work our parts man is into internationals in a big way he may know of one locally
