So then whats the deal with political signs being nailed onto trees in conservation areas, is this an offence, i mean nailing anything to a tree is less than ideal, but there are blooming loads appeared in the last few days, and some i know to be in a CA

so then legal and tree officer type bods, whats the deal :confused1:

As far as I know they are only allowed to tie the things to lamp posts and they must be above a certain height. Any boards must not be mounted on trees, power or phone poles but can be put on posts in the fields.

However when have any politicians followed any rules??

These are local rules, not sure of they extend nationally

Kirklees rules

Allowed on lamp-posts but not on trees, telephone poles or traffic lights

Posters must be at least 2.1m off the ground and no bigger than 45cm by 30cm

Must be removed before the end of the next full week after polling day
