Probably a silly question but was that really hard to make I have friends with the gear to do it but never done anything like that before would love the thought making something out of the timber I take down as I think I'm great just putting the logs on my log burner lol I have a set of twins on the way would be nice to make a couple of them chairs they look fantastic mate

Mostly Lathe work ????

 

hi dean,,made it with a load of old ladder making planes,,,there like big pencil sharpeners,,,,turns square wood into round wood,,,,,rigged up a old robin reliant gear box,,to a motor , and a collet to the drive shaft,,,bingo turning device for large pencil sharpener,,,,,just weave the seat,,,away you go,,,:thumbup:

hi lorry time is the issue,,and practice,,,,ive been woodturning on a pole-lathe for 20 yrs,,,,and traditional crafts is my hobby/job,,,,,juggling the tree surgery and crafts,,s the difficult thing,,,,,,,,,,if you get five mins start with a three legged milking stool I`ll post a pic,,,when can find one,,,,:001_smile:
